What is a VIN?

VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17-digit code that clearly identifies each vehicle. It's stamped directly on the vehicle body and is used to track all vehicle records.

What is a REGO (Registration Number)?

REGO is the license plate or registration number assigned to a vehicle. If the VIN is not available, you can still get a full Car History Report using just the REGO.

Where can I find the VIN or REGO?

VIN: Found on the car's chassis, registration certificate, or service documents.
REGO: Displayed on the number plate and vehicle documents. If you're viewing a car online, ask the seller for either the VIN or REGO.

Where does Scout 24 Inspections get vehicle records from?

We collect data from more than 32 countries using reliable sources like:
• Government databases
• Police and insurance records
• Dealerships and service centers
• Damaged vehicle databases
• Online classifieds and export/import registries

Do you check international vehicles too?

Yes, Scout 24 Inspections checks vehicle history across Europe and the USA. After entering the VIN or REGO, you’ll see a summary of available records from our global database.

No damage records found – what does that mean?

If our system finds no damage records across over 200 million entries, it likely means the vehicle hasn’t been involved in any reported accidents. However, a physical inspection is always recommended.
